Late Pick Viognier 2007 375ml - Dessert Wine

100% Late Harvest Viognier from La Collina vineyard, this wine is the result of one of those problems that work out perfect in the end. Very late in the day, too dark to finish harvesting but not enough fruit to bring back the pickers the next day to complete the job, the remaining Viognier grapes were left on the vines. We did eventually harvest a few weeks later when the fruit was perfectly Botrytised and perfectly flavoured.

2007 La Collina Viognier Tardi (late) was hand harvested at around 39 Brix and pressed over a very long time to extract all the sweet juice. The wine was fermented slowly in very old oak barrels over a long period of time. The final wine has residual sugar of 160 grams per litre.

Rich and sweet, the wine shows the lush apricotty characters of Botrytised fruit with a rich, luscious palate.
