Region: Central Otago, Bannockburn 100% Single Estate

Vintage: The 2008 Vintage was very cool to start but late spring/summer temperatures quickly increased and carried on into a long warm autumn that contributed to good fruit ripeness. This particular vintage produced some of the best Pinot Gris as yet harvested from Akarua vineyard

Bouquet & Palate: The wine shows lovely floral and pear notes on the nose. The palate is rich with layers of citrus, honey, orange zest and rock melon. The wine finishes with great length and spice.

Cellaring: It is ready to drink now and is best served slightly chilled. Cellar for up to 3 years.

“Delicious already, this very finely balanced wine was mostly handled in tanks, but 30 percent was fermented in old barrels. Mouthfilling, with moderate acidity, it is vibrantly fruity, with ripe, peachy, slightly spicy flavours, showing good varietal character, and a hint of apricots”.
